Basketball Recap: Potomac Falls Comes Up Short

Potomac Falls lost against Riverside back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Potomac Falls Panthers took a hard 74-58 fall against the Riverside Ram. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Ram are ranked 18th).

Riverside was led to victory by Max Lawson and Joell Basue. Lawson went 8 of 10 en route to 20 points and six rebounds, while Basue went 9 for 14 on his way to 18 points and five boards. Aryan Adusumilli also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first boards of the season.

Potomac Falls' loss dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Riverside, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1.

Potomac Falls won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Broad Run at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Potomac Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Broad Run likes a good challenge. As for Riverside, they will take on Lightridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
