Baseball Recap: Aldine Beats Spring for Their Eighth Straight Win

Aldine extended their winning streak to eight on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 18-3 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spring Lions a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gabriel Nunez was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Alberto Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Aldine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring only posted an OBP of .238.

As for Spring, with the loss, they broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-10. Considering the last time they couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

On Spring's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesus Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Aldine beat the Lions by a score of 3-1 on Friday.
