Basketball Game Preview: Shamrock Irish vs. White Deer Bucks

The Shamrock Irish will venture away from home to take on the White Deer Bucks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Shamrock is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Hedley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Shamrock blew Hedley out of the water with a 59-28 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Irish had established a 27 point advantage.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask White Deer). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 75-29 victory over Lefors. The Bucks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Shamrock has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for White Deer, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Shamrock might still be hurting after the 63-41 defeat they got from White Deer when the teams last played on January 3rd. Can Shamrock avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
