Palmetto's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout  on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Southside Christian Sabres  an   18-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won nine matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Halle Tompkins and  Anna Nelms made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Tompkins   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Nelms   tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Tompkins has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances. At bat,  Tompkins  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and two  doubles, while  Nelms  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. Those  three  RBI gave  Tompkins a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Graelyn Adams, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in March.  Carrigan Holbert was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Palmetto  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in 11 consecutive  contests.
Palmetto has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Southside Christian,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 8-6.
 Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southside Christian, they will challenge St. Joseph's Catholic at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
