Kennedy has gone a perfect 4-0 against Steinmetz College Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Kennedy will welcome Steinmetz College Prep at 10:00 a.m. Kennedy has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Kennedy managed to slip by Amundsen the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Kennedy came up short against Amundsen on Saturday, falling 15-4. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kennedy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Rychetsky, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That run marked the first that Rychetsky scored this season. Nicholas Gallas was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Even though they lost, Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Steinmetz College Prep had just enough and edged out Noble Street College Prep 13-12 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Silver Streaks in their matchups with the Golden Tigers: they've now won six in a row.
Juan Pablo Jaramillo was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Jaramillo was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Luis Jose Batista Taveras was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Santi ROSALES, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Steinmetz College Prep now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Kennedy skirted past Steinmetz College Prep 10-9 in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Does Kennedy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Steinmetz College Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
