Baseball Recap: Berean Christian Comes Up Short

Berean Christian had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 9-15 to make it four. They lost 11-3 to the Northgate Broncos. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly eight runs.

Zack Upshaw made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Berean Christian is 2-1 when Upshaw posts one or more home runs, but 7-14 otherwise.

As for Northgate, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

On Northgate's side, they got a big performance out of Shane Malloy, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Robert Jurado also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

As of now, neither Berean Christian nor Northgate have any future games scheduled.
