Recap: Kennedy Titans vs. Hayward Farmers
The Kennedy Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Hayward by a score of 56-53. Kennedy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hayward apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Quincy Lavender was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds for Hayward. Those 30 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Montory (TJ) Moore , who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Kennedy bumped their record down to 2-4 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hayward, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Concord at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hayward is on the road again on Thursday and play against Amador Valley at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st.
