Media darling won a state championship at Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey and has the Giants in the playoff hunt.
Playing against top competition is nothing new for New York Giants rookie quarterback
Tommy DeVito. The 25-year-old signal caller played high school football 20 miles away from his NFL home where he played against some of the nation's top talent and won a state championship at
Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.).
DeVito was the starting quarterback for the Ironmen in 2015 and 2016, throwing for more than 3,800 yards and 35 touchdowns. He was an Elite 11 quarterback who was regarded as a four-star prospect and top 10 at his position in the Class of 2017.
At Don Bosco Prep, DeVito played national powers like Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.), American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.), St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio). He went head-to-head with future NFL players like Ja'Marr Chase, Rashan Gary, Patrick Surtain II, D'Andre Swift, Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

DeVito went on to Syracuse and Illinois, where he played 39 total games and threw for 6,516 yards and 43 touchdowns. He went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft and signed with the New York Giants.
When Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones got hurt against the Jets on Oct. 29, DeVito checked into the game for his first NFL action. He has been the starter since and has thrown eight touchdowns against three interceptions with 855 passing yards and a 65.9 percent completion percentage.
Over the past three weeks, DeVito has orchestrated wins over the Commanders, Patriots and Packers. In the 24-22 win over the Packers on Monday, he completed 17 of his 21 attempts for 158 yards and a touchdown, earning NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
If the Giants beat the Saints on Sunday, DeVito would become the first undrafted rookie to win four consecutive games in NFL history. He has also gone 87 attempts without an interception.
New York was 2-6 when DeVito became the starter and now New York is just one game back of the final wild card spot with four games to play.
