Baseball Preview: Sahuaro Cougars vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions

Sahuaro has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Sahuaro will be strutting in after a victory while Mountain View will be coming in after a defeat.

After only one run in their last contest, Sahuaro made sure to put some runs up on the board against Flowing Wells on Thursday. Sahuaro blew past Flowing Wells 13-5.

Ethan Bess was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Cruz Leyva was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell just short of Pueblo by a score of 3-2.

Julian Palmieri was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (he also only allowed one walk). Palmieri was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
