Volleyball Recap: Phoenix Kimura's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Englewood over Wolfson

Englewood lost against Wolfson back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Rams came up short against the Wolfpack, falling 3-0.

While Englewood was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Wolfson's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-11, 25-13.

Englewood's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Phoenix Kimura, who had 16 digs. Kimura is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Lianette PachecoRodriguez was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

Englewood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Wolfson, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Englewood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Atlantic Coast on the 2nd. As for Wolfson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Hilliard on the 2nd.
