Basketball Recap: Lebanon Blue Devils vs. Smyrna Bulldogs

You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Lebanon Blue Devils's strategy against the Smyrna Bulldogs on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lebanon blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 64-34 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Lebanon had established a 23 point advantage.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaleil Lyons, who scored five points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zarin Butler, who scored five points.

Lebanon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season. As for Smyrna, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

Lebanon's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Cookeville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Blue Devils in Tennessee (the Cavaliers are ranked 11th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 163rd). As for Smyrna, they will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
