Softball Recap: Vintage Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

There's no place like home for Vintage, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Justin-Siena Braves 14-1 on Tuesday. The Crushers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

Carlee Carter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Carter was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Makenzie Matoza was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Abygail Sims was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Vintage is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Justin-Siena, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Coming up, Vintage will challenge Sonoma Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Justin-Siena, they will face off against Bethel at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
