Basketball Game Preview: Davenport Gorillas vs. Newport Grizzlies

The Davenport Gorillas will face off against the Newport Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Davenport ended up a good deal behind Medical Lake and lost 75-59. The Gorillas haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 68-49 bruising from Riverside. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Rams are ranked 56th).

Davenport's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Newport, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
