Greensburg hasn't had much luck against East Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Greensburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Greensburg made easy work of Union County and carried off a 12-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won three in a row.

Logan Meyer and Cy Miller did most of the damage at the plate: Meyer got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Miller got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Ramsey, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, East Central fell victim to Madison and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Cubs by a score of 2-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

East Central also got a good showing from Hunter Thomas, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, Thomas gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April.

East Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Greensburg, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Greensburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like East Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .450. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
