Softball Recap: St. Marys Blue Devils vs. Ritchie County Rebels

St. Marys put the finishing touches on their 14th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ritchie County Rebels a 16-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for St. Marys who now have eight in a row.

Cali Masters made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Masters has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive pitching appearances. Masters was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoey Winland, who went 4-for-4 with a home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. Ava Childers was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
