Basketball Recap: Lincoln Southeast Takes a Loss

Lincoln Southeast came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Millard West Wildcats, falling 72-29. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.

Millard West was led to victory by Neleigh Gessert and Norah Gessert. Neleigh went 8-for-15 on her way to 22 points and three steals, while Norah shot 70% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kylee Paben, who shot 45% from the field en route to 13 points.

Lincoln Southeast has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. The win was the 23rd in a row for Millard West, bringing their record for this year to 25-1.

Lincoln Southeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Millard West, they will be taking part in a tournament against Millard South at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Millard West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
