Volleyball Recap: Wilmot Comes Up Short

Wilmot lost against Great Plains Lutheran back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolves lost 3-0 to the Panthers.

While Wilmot was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Great Plains Lutheran's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-18.

Great Plains Lutheran got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Moritz out in front who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Moritz has posted over her last seven matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Nylah Vannelli, who had 11 digs and four aces.

Wilmot has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-24 record this season. As for Great Plains Lutheran, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 13-14 record.

Wilmot wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Britton-Hecla on the 28th. As for Great Plains Lutheran, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Sisseton on the 28th.
