Volleyball Recap: Lone Peak Has No Trouble Against Lehi

Lone Peak's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lehi Pioneers. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won nine in a row.

Lone Peak was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-20, 25-21.

Ava Burgess paced Lone Peak's offense, picking up 14 kills. Burgess got some help from Nevaeh Tien and her 20 assists. Finally, Burgess was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Despite the loss, Lehi still got an impressive performance from Paige Wakumoto, who had 15 digs and two aces.

Lone Peak's record is now 9-4. As for Lehi, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.

Coincidentally, Lone Peak and Lehi will both be playing American Fork the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Cavemen at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Pioneers will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
