Softball Recap: North Lamar Drops Highest Score of Season Against Paris

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Lamar). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Paris Wildcats a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for North Lamar and bumps their season record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Paris, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as North Lamar Panthers challenge Sulphur Springs Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sulphur Springs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so North Lamar's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Paris, they are taking a road trip to take on Pittsburg at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th.
