Basketball Game Preview: Crete-Monee Warriors vs. Rich Township Raptors

Crete-Monee is 1-9 against Rich Township since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Crete-Monee Warriors will square off against the Rich Township Raptors at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Crete-Monee was able to grind out a solid win over Thornton, taking the game 48-39. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Wildcats are ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rich Township waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 77-70 victory over the Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Raptors have won by exactly seven points.

Crete-Monee's record now sits at 18-10. As for Rich Township, their record now sits at 19-7.

Things could have been worse for Crete-Monee, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-44 loss to Rich Township in their previous meeting back in January. Can Crete-Monee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
