Basketball Recap: Mountain View Falls Despite Big Games from Daniel Anumba and Chase Reidhead

Mountain View suffered their closest loss since January 7th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Sabino Sabercats by a score of 64-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Mountain Lions still had to take the loss.

Mountain View's loss came despite strong showings from Chase Reidhead and Daniel Anumba. Reidhead shot 53% from the field to rack up 19 points and seven rebounds, while Anumba dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Nathan Kosanke, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Isaiah Stevens went supernova For Sabino., going 10-for-21 en route to 26 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Stevens a new career-high in assists (four). Isaac Mendele was another key player, putting up eight points and eight steals.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sabino, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-41 win against Canyon del Oro on the 28th. As for Sabino, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-57 loss against Sahuaro on the 26th.
