Softball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Prospect Panthers, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-1 back in March.

Oak Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Schuster, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That hit marked the first that Schuster got this season.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Prospect, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Oak Grove is taking a road trip to square off against Piedmont Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prospect, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Christopher at 4:00 p.m. on the 16th. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
