Basketball Recap: Jefferson Area's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Kirtland came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Jefferson Area, but Tatum Bordeaux wouldn't allow it. The Jefferson Area Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Kirtland Hornets 52-49 thanks in part to Bordeaux, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 17 points and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Jefferson Area's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Kirtland, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Jefferson Area wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-42 defeat against John F. Kennedy Catholic on the 6th. As for Kirtland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-34 win against Lakeside on the 6th.
