Volleyball Game Preview: Ballard Bruins vs. Whitefield Academy Wildcats + How To Watch

Ballard is a perfect 3-0 against Whitefield Academy since August of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Bruins will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Ballard is coming into the match hot, having won their last 15 games.

Ballard is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kentucky's top teams: Great Crossing, who was ranked 24th at the time (Ballard was ranked sixth). The Bruins came out on top against the Warhawks by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 28-26, 23-25, 25-13.

Ruby Tennen and Ahtziry Medina were among the main playmakers for Ballard as the former had 18 assists and four aces and the latter had five digs and three aces. That's the most assists Tennen has posted over her last nine contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Ballard was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 11 consecutive matchups.

Whitefield Academy not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Presentation.

Ballard's record is now 24-3. As for Whitefield Academy, their record now sits at 13-10.

Ballard took their victory against Whitefield Academy in their previous matchup back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
