Football Recap: San Clemente Piles Up the Points Against Ayala

San Clemente got themselves on the board against Ayala on Thursday, but Ayala never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 27-0. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tritons had established a 20-point advantage.

Among those leading the charge was Chloe Williams, who threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Capryce Mathis also helped with two TDs in total.

San Clemente didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Mathis, Addie Hill, and Quincy Connors picked up one apiece. Connors is also crushing it when it comes to defended passes: she's defended at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Mathis got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for San Clemente and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.0 points over those games. As for Ayala, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-5.

Coming up, San Clemente will challenge Troy at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ayala, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 28-6 loss against Westlake on the 23rd.
