Baseball Game Preview: Hazel Green Trojans vs. Northside Rams

The Hazel Green Trojans will square off against the Northside Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Hazel Green proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Pell City 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since March 13, 2025.

Ty Hunter made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hunter was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Hunter wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colby Atkins, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Northside took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Helena 3-2.
