Softball Recap: Falkner Comes Up Short

If Falkner was riding high fresh off their 18-0 takedown of Ashland last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles lost 18-6 to the Biggersville Lions on Saturday. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 4-0 in the first period.

Kady Duncan and Emma Mauney did some serious damage despite the final result: Duncan scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Mauney scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Falkner moved to 5-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Biggersville, they pushed their record up to 6-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Falkner Eagles duke it out with Myrtle Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Biggersville has already played their next game (against Hatley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
