After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Corpus Christi Moody, Flour Bluff was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the King Mustangs 3-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Flour Bluff's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brody Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Flour Bluff pushed their record up to 8-10-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for King, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15-1 record this season.

Flour Bluff will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Carroll at 7:00 p.m. As for King, they will head out on the road to square off against Tuloso-Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuloso-Midway's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so King's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
