Baseball Recap: Rogers Takes a Loss

Rogers extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-11 in the process. They fell 5-2 to the Narragansett Mariners. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mariners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Cole Marley and Darren Carter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Marley went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Carter went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Marley has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

As for Narragansett, the win got them back to even at 8-8. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly three runs.

On Narragansett's side, the team relied heavily on Skyler Fratiello-Soule, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jackson Hohl was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rogers will host Mt. Pleasant at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Narragansett, they will be playing at home against Scituate at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
