Baseball Recap: New Hope Triumphs

New Hope posted their closest victory since March 8th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Good Hope Raiders 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Hudson Layne was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dawson Cambron, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

The win got New Hope back to even at 9-9. As for Good Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

New Hope wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-4 loss against Arab on the 25th. As for Good Hope, they will venture away from home to challenge West Morgan at 4:30 p.m. on the 1st.
