Baseball Recap: Hawthorne Takes a Loss

Hawthorne fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Leuzinger on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Olympians by a score of 3-2. The Cougars have struggled against the Olympians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Santiago Garcia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Hawthorne's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Leuzinger, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Hawthorne will square off against Inglewood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Leuzinger, they will challenge Santa Monica at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Olympians surely won't give up without a fight.
