Softball Recap: Amundsen Comes Up Short

Amundsen lost against Whitney Young back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Vikings lost 13-4 to the Dolphins. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kate Frey was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Araceli Condie-Espinosa, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

Amundsen's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Whitney Young, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amundsen will square off against Highland Park at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitney Young, they will face off against Niles West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
