Basketball Recap: Ponaganset Chieftains vs. Prout Crusaders
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ponaganset had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Prout Crusaders, sneaking past 74-71. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 77-74 back in January.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Horne, who on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. Horne's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Ryan Antonucci was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.
