Basketball Recap: River Ridge Find Success

Pasco came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against River Ridge, but Jacob Yeager wouldn't allow it. The River Ridge Royal Knights took down the Pasco Pirates 89-74 on Wednesday thanks in part to Yeager, who went 14 of 17 on his way to 35 points and seven rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of John Golden, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was TJ Gebru, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 23 points. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Miller, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

The victory got River Ridge back to even at 8-8. As for Pasco, their record now sits at 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Ridge will take on Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pasco, they will challenge Pinellas Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pasco is facing Pinellas Park at the right time seeing as Pinellas Park is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
