Volleyball Recap: Winter Springs Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crooms Academy on Thursday, Winter Springs came back down to earth. The Winter Springs Bears took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Academy of Central Florida National Golden Bulls on Friday. The loss was the Bears' first of the season.

Skyler Martinez paced Winter Springs' offense, picking up 11 kills. Martinez got some help from Zeke Register and his 14 assists.

Academy of Central Florida National found their leader in sophomore Samuel Ortega, who had 16 digs.

Winter Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Academy of Central Florida National, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Winter Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Tohopekaliga on the 7th. As for Academy of Central Florida National, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Lake Howell on the 7th.
