Basketball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside lost against Fleming Island back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Riverside Generals came up short against the Fleming Island Golden Eagles, falling 62-42. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 54th).

Fleming Island's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Crawford led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Bryce Robinson, who posted 13 points.

Riverside has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Fleming Island, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

Riverside will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fletcher at 7:30 p.m. Fletcher is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season. As for Fleming Island, they will head out to take on Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clay has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
