Basketball Recap: Dekaney Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Dekaney, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Benjamin Davis Falcons on Tuesday, sneaking past 49-47. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 69-27 loss the last time these two teams met.

Maya Shotwell had an outrageously good game as she posted 22 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kimora Scranton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Dekaney smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Dekaney's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Benjamin Davis, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Dekaney and Eisenhower will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dekaney is facing Eisenhower at the right time seeing as Eisenhower is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Benjamin Davis will take on Nimitz in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
