Basketball Game Preview: Slaton Tigers vs. Idalou Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Slaton Tigers challenge the Idalou Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Slaton sitting on seven straight wins and Idalou on three.

Last Friday, Slaton took their game with ease, bagging a 79-21 victory over Friona. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Roosevelt typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Idalou proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 66-52.

Idalou is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Slaton, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

Slaton beat Idalou 44-32 when the teams last played on January 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Slaton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
