Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I recap September 24, 2013

South's Mike Jones recorded the longest rushing play in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I this season in his game against Blue Valley last week. Jones ran for 64 yards on the play and finished with 92 on the day as his team fell to the Tigers.

Justin Stonebraker and Zach Nachbar provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Blue Valley. The connection was good for 88 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.

South's dynamic duo of Stonebraker and Nachbar proved to be unstoppable against Eric Driskell's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stonebraker threw for 286 yards and 3 touchdowns and Nachbar had 156 yards receiving. Aaron Mar helped South's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 57 yards.

Sam Sellers' team's dynamic duo of Stonebraker and Nachbar proved tough for the Tigers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Stonebraker put up the best numbers through the air as the Cougars fell to Blue Valley.

He was 14-24 with 0 interception.

Dalton Harman was a key player and the best on defense this week as South lost to the Tigers. The 6-foot-2 senior.

Malik Veal was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 154 yards on 22 carries as Central fell to Blue Valley. JW Maldaner also contributed to the rushing game with 158 yards on the ground.

Nachbar was the best receiver in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I this week as South lost to the Tigers.

The Cougars' Stonebraker and Nachbar have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Stonebraker has thrown for 583 yards this season, while Nachbar, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 14 catches for 377 yards. The Mustangs' Maldaner leads the league in rushing yards with 427.

Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Central takes on Derby. Michael Hall's team's offense has racked up 108 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Panthers have allowed only 61 on the year.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Hutchinson takes on Newton. The Salt Hawks are currently in third, while the Railroaders are in first.

Newton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in the league. Nate Wollenberg's team defeated Haysville Campus 48-7 earlier in the week.
