Football Recap: Skipstone Academy Takes a Loss

Skipstone Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the Baker County Bears, falling 52-25. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Baker County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points over those games.

Taylor Sanders continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 154 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 179 yards and three TDs. Lyshombie Douglas helped out on the ground, rushing for 161 yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skipstone Academy will face off against Rock Springs Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Warriors their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Baker County, they will head out on the road to challenge Vidalia Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
