Volleyball Recap: Maplewood-Richmond Heights Takes a Loss

Maplewood-Richmond Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Duchesne Pioneers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on April 5th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-5, 25-17.

Leading Duchesne to victory were Brody Keathley and Peter Freygang. Keathley had seven digs and two assists, while Freygang had four digs and one block. That's the most assists Keathley has posted since April 2nd. Dominic Reckamp also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

Maplewood-Richmond Heights' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Duchesne, their victory bumped their record up to 9-17-1.

Looking ahead, Maplewood-Richmond Heights will take on St. Mary's at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Duchesne, they are taking a road trip to challenge Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
