Mt. Vernon has gone 7-1 against Vincennes Lincoln recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Alices at 5:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
It was a proper cat-fight when Mt. Vernon duked it out with Princeton on Tuesday. The Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 3-1.
Meanwhile, Vincennes Lincoln came into Wednesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Evansville North 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Alices have posted against the Huskies since May 17, 2019.
Addy Alton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Grace Archer was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.
Vincennes Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Mt. Vernon, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-5.
