Baseball Recap: Clinton Gets the Win

On Wednesday, the Clinton Arrows were able to grind out a solid win over the Grenada Chargers, taking the game 7-4.

Phillip Burchfield looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josef Walker, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Stone Crain, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Clinton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Grenada, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Clinton will challenge Germantown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grenada, they will square off against Senatobia at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
