Baseball Recap: Shepherd Extends Winning Streak to Two

Shepherd won against Clare on Monday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Bluejays never let the Gladwin Flying G get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Bluejays might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Kody Wheeler's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Robinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Noah Clevenger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Shepherd and bumps their season record up to 20-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Gladwin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Shepherd will have a chance to go back-to-back against Gladwin: the pair will be back at it again later today.
