Volleyball Game Preview: Billerica Memorial Indians vs. Burlington Red Devils

The Billerica Memorial Indians will venture away from home to take on the Burlington Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Billerica Memorial managed to slip by Lawrence the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Lancers on Friday. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

While Billerica Memorial had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Burlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Greater Lowell Tech, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-15, 25-17.

Billerica Memorial now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Burlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Billerica Memorial was able to grind out a solid victory over Burlington when the teams last played back in March, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
