Softball Recap: Midview Middies vs. Olmsted Falls Bulldogs
Midview entered their tilt with Olmsted Falls with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs with a sharp 17-5 victory on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Midview also won the last time the pair played last Tuesday.
Savannah Holcomb was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Holcomb has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Holcomb was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Lily Thomasheski was incredible, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Addison Reisinger, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
On Olmsted Falls' side, EVIE PEMBERTON and BROOKE LARGENT stepped up to the plate in a big way. PEMBERTON went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double, while LARGENT scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of ELENA VROUTOS, who went 1-for-2 with a triple and a run.
