Basketball Recap: Akins' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Akins's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They secured a 43-39 W over the Austin Maroons. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Akins' victory bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Austin, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bowie the next time they take the court. Akins will head out to face Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Austin will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
