Basketball Recap: Maxwell Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Brady came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Maxwell, but Kristyn Cheek wouldn't allow it. The Maxwell Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Brady Eagles 43-40 thanks in part to Cheek, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Cheek is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the defeat, Brady had strong showings from Payton Stienike, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards, and Taryn Stearns, who posted eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for Maxwell and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Brady, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Maxwell will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Arapahoe at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Brady, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-33 win against Cody-Kilgore on the 3rd.
