Soccer Recap: Gibson County Comes Up Short

After soaring to four goals the game before, Gibson County was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They lost 5-1 to the Riverside Panthers. Miguel Ortiz was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Gibson County's goal came courtesy of Ayden Finney, who's now up to two this season.

Gibson County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Riverside, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Gibson County didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Covington on the 11th. As for Riverside, they will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on Hickman County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
