Basketball Game Preview: Oglethorpe County Patriots vs. Athens Academy Spartans + Official Tickets

Oglethorpe County is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will welcome the Athens Academy Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Oglethorpe County has given up an average of 60.9 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Oglethorpe County came up short against Stephens County and fell 67-60. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Athens Academy waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 44-41. Those 44 points were actually the fewest the Spartans have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Oglethorpe County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Athens Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Oglethorpe County came up short against Athens Academy in their previous meeting back in January, falling 46-42. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
